Dr.Thomas Berg
Dr. Thomas Berg completed his training in diagnostic radiology and musculoskeletal (MSK) fellowship training at the University of Iowa and has been practicing MSK radiology and Spine & Joint intervention for 10 yrs. He serves as a MSK manuscript reviewer for the American Journal of Roetgenology and has written several textbook chapters on spine and joint injections. He is a clinical lecturer at the University of Iowa and also serves on the advisory board of mriprotocols.org. Dr. Berg is a member of the Society of Skeletal Radiology and American Society of Spine Radiology among other radiology organizations. Dr. Berg resides in Iowa City with his family. Robert O. Cone
Robert O. Cone is a graduate of Southwest Texas State University and attended Medical School at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha National Honor Medical Society. Internship and residency in Diagnostic Radiology were performed at the Bexar County Teaching Hospitals and Audie Murphy VA Hospital of the University Of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where he served as Chief Resident. He subsequently attended the University of California at San Diego where he completed a fellowship in Musculoskeletal Radiology under the direction of Dr. Donald Resnick.
After, Dr. Cone was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiology at the University Of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where he directed the Radiology Residency Program. He then entered private practice, introducing Musculoskeletal Radiology to the private practice of medicine in San Antonio. Working for many years and establishing strong relationships among orthopaedic surgeons in the area, Dr. Cone brings extensive knowledge and experience to the practice of musculoskeletal radiology.
Dr. Cone has authored or coauthored 30 peer-reviewed journal articles and nine book chapters, and has given over 30 invited lectures at national academic meetings. View articles by Robert Cone M.D. certified spine specialist.
Dr. Steven Lutzker
Dr. Lutzker earned his medical degree at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. He served an internship in Internal Medicine at The Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, followed by residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. He continued subspecialty training with fellowships in Neuroradiology at the University of Arizona in Tuscon, and the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston.
Following his training, Dr. Lutzker served as an Assistant Professor of Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, providing radiology services in the Neuroradiology and Interventional Radiology sections. He has been in private practice since 2004 with a focus on neuroimaging and has also been providing Teleradiology interpretations since 2006 for multiple facilities, including M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. He is currently Assistant Professor in the Department of Diagnostic and Interventional Imaging at The University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, focusing on neuroradiology and neurovascular studies. Dr. Douglas K. Smith
Douglas K. Smith graduated from Wake Forest University Medical School. He pursued Orthopedic residency training at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Dr. Smith’s growing research interests in MRI and hand & wrist imaging led him to pursue radiology residency training at the Mallinckrodt Institute at Washington University in St. Louis, where he continued his research and publishing and served as Chief Resident.
Dr. Smith was called to active duty during Desert Storm and served at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center in San Antonio. He taught residents and fellows in Orthopedics and Radiology and continued research in Orthopedic MRI. Dr. Smith has lectured extensively around the world and was inducted into the prestigious International Skeletal Society.
After leaving the Air Force, Dr. Smith joined private practice as an Interventional Spine Radiologist and became nationally recognized for perfecting the technique of percutaneous vertebroplasty and pain management procedures.
